Dublin IP and R&D Summit
15th-17th of October 2019
The first Dublin IP and R&D Summit was a 1 day interactive IP and R&D conference and expo focusing on discussions on the most contemporary trends in the worlds of Intellectual Property and Research and Development. We were proud to welcome Enterprise Ireland as a strategic partner, the government body supporting innovation and business development uniting over 3500 IP owners.
With over 100 participants throughout the entire day, the chosen experts discussed various topics, including:

-
The importance of IP in fast-growing companies (where to start with patents, trademarks copyright and design; IP licensing for business development; Intangible Assets: value drivers for competitive advantage and economic development)
-
IP in scaling strategies and rising investments (global vs local strategy in IP protection, how can SMEs protect their IP, market, timing and costs)
-
IP valuation models and IP as an asset class (product sales vs licensing; investor economics; IP as revenue and investment generator)
-
SMEs - what to patent, what not to patent? (patent strategy vs market strategy; trade-secrets and know&how as an alternative to patents; AI and Blockchain for future IP strategies)
-
Cross-functional integration of R&D and IP strategy
-
IP in Ireland, Europe and the rest of the world (the rise of the intangible economy; challenges and opportunities especially with Enterprise Ireland's IP Strategy, Irish Knowledge Development Box and others)
